Job Summary: 

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Commercial/AG Lender to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of commercial and agricultural loans, cultivating relationships with existing and prospective clients, and providing financial solutions that align with their business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial and agricultural lending practices, credit analysis, and regulatory compliance. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop new business through networking, prospecting, and relationship-building with commercial and agricultural clients. 

  • Structure, underwrite, and present loan proposals for approval in accordance with bank policies and regulatory guidelines. 

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial and agricultural loans, ensuring sound credit quality and profitability. 

  • Perform credit analysis and risk assessment, including the review of financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and market conditions. 

  • Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the loan process and life of the loan. 

  • Collaborate with credit analysts, loan processors, and other internal departments to ensure timely and accurate loan closings. 

  • Monitor loan performance and assist with collections or workout strategies when necessary. 

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that affect commercial and agricultural lending. 

  • Represent the bank in community and industry events to enhance visibility and business development opportunities. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Agriculture, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial and/or agricultural lending. 

  • Strong understanding of lending regulations, credit principles, and financial analysis. 

  • Knowledge of local agricultural markets and farming operations is a plus. 

  • Proven track record of loan portfolio growth and client relationship development. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Proficiency in loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 

Working Conditions: 

  • Office-based with regular travel to client sites and community events. 

  • Occasional extended hours may be required to meet deadlines or client needs.
