Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced, client-focused Mortgage Lender to join our lending team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, guiding borrowers through the application process, and providing tailored financing solutions that meet their homeownership goals. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, knowledgeable about mortgage products and regulations, and skilled in developing long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Originate and process residential mortgage loans, including conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and portfolio loans.
Conduct client consultations to assess financial needs and recommend appropriate mortgage solutions.
Assist borrowers through the application process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience from application to closing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, builders, attorneys, and other referral sources.
Actively generate new business through networking, marketing efforts, and community involvement.
Stay up to date with lending regulations, market conditions, and product offerings.
Work closely with underwriters, processors, and closing agents to ensure timely and accurate loan closings.
Maintain a pipeline of loans and ensure all documentation and disclosures comply with federal and state regulations, as well as bank policies.
Achieve production goals while delivering high standards of customer service and compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in residential mortgage lending.
Active NMLS license required.
Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products, lending regulations, and underwriting guidelines.
Proven ability to build and maintain client and referral relationships.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously.
Proficiency in loan origination systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
Combination of in-office and fieldwork, including meetings with clients and referral partners.
Flexibility to attend networking events and client meetings outside regular business hours as needed.
